High Heel Shoes and Your Wardrobe
We all know that high heel shoes make us look taller and thinner. But did you know that high heel shoes can transform your wardrobe? Depending on your style and fashion preferences, you may be able to mix and match a lot of the clothes you have with a combination of flats and high heel shoes. Men, for example, are able to do this with sports coats and ties. They can wear the same slacks over and over (hopefully there are a few dry cleanings in between) and simply change the tie and sports coat. And if they wear suits on a regular basis, they can often just change the tie and the shirt and they are good to go.
Getting back to women and high heel shoes, it is important to understand a few things. First, if a woman is wearing dress slacks with her high heels, the cuffs of the pants must be within a certain number of inches from the bottom of the heals. There are different schools of thought with regard to the distance (some say one inch and some say two inches), but what remains constant is that the width of the cuffs must have a radius of at least three inches from the ankles. Not to get technical with boring measurements, but these things make a big difference in the look of the outfit with the high heels. If a woman is wearing a skirt or a dress and stands less than six feet in height (which is the majority of woman), the high heels shoes should not be more than three inches in height. In other words, it is great that you want to wear high heel shoes and you probably look great in them, but if they make you three inches taller than your normal height, it tends to look a bit awkward.
