Finding Women’s High Wedge Shoes
High wedge shoes are still hot this season. Ladies wedge sandals are especially popular now that Spring and Summer are here. All the top designers have a few fabulous pairs of women’s wedge shoes in their collections. If you can’t afford the top designer brands, here are some ideas for affordable ones that look great.
Affordable Designer High Wedge Shoes
Franco Sarto, Michael Kors, Cole Haan, Steve Madden, Kork-Ease, and Rocket Dog all have really great high wedge shoes that are affordable and funky. There are strappy styles with cork heels and others that have sculpted styles, but the most comfortable ones will be rubber or cork. The easiest to walk in have a small platform in front, but the sexiest are the ones that have an architectural form, where from the back the heel tends to like a stiletto, but from the side you can see the wedge.
Wild Women’s Wedge Shoes
Ash has some strange wedges with studded rivets and leather form fitting designs that look somewhat between roman sandals and cowboy boots. Vera Wang has some affordable styles that are really chic, all white leather, with open toe and heel but everything else closed. Nine West is always good for a fabulous twist on a wedge, with ankle straps in gold and styles that are espadrilles with a twist of rope and leather. Nine West has good prices, great styles and are easy to find. Tulua has a style called Free People that’s fabulously yellow and full of straps. I mention it because it’s hard to beat the wild design for the price – under $100. Jessica Bennett has some colorful styles, more platform than wedge but they are geometric and art-decoesque and really cheap so they merit a mention. Michael Antonio Hasani has some reptile high wedge shoes for under $40. They must be seen to be appreciated because they are not just reptile but colorful reds and other none-reptilian colors that are really wild. They are not gaudy at all, despite being strange. They would be great wedges for clubbing or wearing to a prom party. Can’t beat the price! Speaking of affordable and animal print, you need to see the Sam Edelman collection that has leopard print wedge sandals for about $160. They sell through Nordstrom and other online retailers, sometimes for less.
