Espadrilles, a Spanish-originated type of heeled shoe with a distinctive rope woven heel, have been popular as women’s shoes for decades. Many different shoe designers have made their own contributions to the genre of espadrille shoes. Most espadrille style still involve a relatively high, thick heel that touches the floor throughout much of the wearer’s step, and are usually made of some type of cloth.

Many women wear these sexy heels with cocktail style dresses, especially with red espadrilles or black espadrilles that have cloth ties that wrap around the lower calf and emphasize the woman’s legs. However, there are more informal variations, including low heels and slip-ons that are appropriate for all day wearing, and other variations of the espadrille style that cover most of the foot (instead of the traditional banded design that exposes parts of the foot), so they are appropriate for conservative and formal, office-style environments.

As far as finding cheap espadrilles online , I haven’t found any shoe store that offers a huge selection of espadrilles online. Many websites that come up for espadrilles are links to physical stores that will ship a pair to you, but they are still limited by the amount of their retail space, so they can’t really offer that big of a selection for a type of shoe style that is still essentially a niche item.

Probably my favorite place to start looking for espadrilles online is Heels.com, which usually has a selection of about 50 styles to choose from, many of which come with a few different color options, and some very bold, exotic looking espadrilles are available here. Amazon.com took over ownership of Endless.com, a shoe megasite, a few years ago, but the espadrille selection is not indicative of this site’s massive selection, and many of the espadrilles here are pretty tame.

Shoes.com is the middle ground of these two sites, with a slightly better selection of espadrilles in slightly more unique styles. And of course, always check at these shoes sites to make sure you can return a style if it doesn’t fit or if it doesn’t look as cute on your feet as you were expecting it to.
